After many successful events, starting from info session through talk with entrepreneurs series, each with enthusiastic participation from participating and non-participating members alike, the most awaited day has successfully played out. The GRAND FINALE of the Hult Prize at nec 2022 was successfully conducted on Wednesday 2nd March.

The event began as the host Mr. Prajwal Pant and co-host Ms. Simran Bohara welcomed the audience and congratulated the eleven finalist teams while commenting on their perseverance for having come so far. After a short briefing on the Hult Prize, deputy campus director Ms. Sami Subedi welcomed the guests and reminded participants of the theme of the Hult Prize 2022.

Last Wednedsay saw the finals of the second edition of Hult Prize at nec, the world’s largest student competition and movement for social good. It has been a couple of months of pitching, collaborating, researching, learning and exploring more and more. And finally, 11 teams emerged to take to the platform via zoom app and come face-to-face with the judges who decided which of them would reach to the next round of Hult Prize i.e. Regionals Round and win exciting prize check to set their big dreams into action.

This year, student teams over the college were asked to lay the foundation of a venture that will provide meaningful work for 2,000 youth within the next two years. Over 100 students from more than six faculties responded. By Tuesday, those hopefuls had become 11 finalist teams. They’ve dedicated the last month of their lives to addressing this issue alongside their studies.

The three judges and speakers this year formed a signature mix of highly esteemed businesspeople whose credentials as social entrepreneurs set them apart, including former participants and notable winners of past Hult Prize Program. The judge panelists were Mr. Prayas Rajopadhyaya (Director at jobdynamics.com), Mrs. Prakriti Mainali (Co-founder at Shakti Milan Nepal) and Mr. Darpan Pudasaini (Co-founder and Chairman of DroNepal).

The team selected for the finale were Team Amigos, Team RL2S, Team PS3, Team DRUC_Squad, Team Shishi:, Team One Step Eco+, Team Blaze, Team Shuttercon, Team Appan Bajar, Team Wild Eyed and Team Corporate Cradle. All the teams presented their varieties of unique business plans and models ranging from business in Nepali architecture to waste management to modern techniques of construction in the field of civil engineering.

At the end of the program, Mr. Pudasaini announced Team Shishi: as the winner of the event and presented their prizes, exciting gift hampers from Mudita Store and ProtozoaHost along with invitation for mentorship at their companies. He also announced the team to position themselves as the First Runner-up, Team DRUC_Squad, and Team PS3 as the Second Runner-up of the Hult Prize at nec 2021/2022. Each of the winning teams was presented with respective prize and gift vouchers, and with this, the glorious journey came to a glorious end. All the teams would also receive consolation prizes in the upcoming Prize Distribution Ceremony.

Finally, Campus Director Tania Lamichhane ended the event on a good note marking the conclusion with a beautiful ending speech. She also thanked the entirety of participants, the organizing team, judges, mentors, sponsors, partners and facilitators who joined hands to bring the prize to glorious success. She summarized the journey of the Hult Prize at nec so far and hoped to create a long-lasting impact on society through these events....
