A workshop on the use of environmentally friendly construction materials has been held in the capital. A workshop on the use of eco panels was organized by Kathford International College of Engineering and Management. Chief executive officer of Nepal Eco Panel, Er. Krishna Bhakta Duwal, who participated in the program, briefed the participating engineering students about the various features of Eco Panel which have been developed as modern construction materials in recent years. He stressed on the need to spread public awareness about the use of eco panel as it is not only earthquake resistant but also environmentally friendly. Engineer Duwal said that the production of Eco Panel is completely environment friendly as it consumes only clean energy (electricity) in a dust-free environment. Dr. Dinesh Sunkamani, Head of the Civil Engineering Department of the College, said that he was happy that the students of the College got information about the new technology of construction materials and emphasized on the use of environment friendly construction materials at present. Eco panel is a building material used in permanent or temporary structures such as interior and exterior partition walls. It is lightweight and also earthquake resistant. Since eco panel is prefabricated in factory and supplied and installed at construction site , this makes rapid construction possible. Therefore, after the great earthquake of 2072 BS, its demand has been growing all over the country
