Bishwash Paneru, a fourth-year undergraduate student of Chemical Engineering from Pulchowk Campus has been accepted in the United Engineering Foundation (UEF) funded grant program for climate solutions projects. He has been awarded a grant worth $11,875 for his research project titled 'Techno-economic analysis of cryogenic CO2 capture process in the context of Nepal and its applications' along with his team members Biplov Paneru from Nepal Engineering College and Anup Paudel, recent graduate of Mechanical Engineering from Pulchowk Campus. UEF is the common consortium of five major engineering societies: AIChE, IEEE, AIME, ASCE, and ASME and his project was the only selected project from Asia and was among the 8 selected projects from the whole world for the grant program. His project report will be soon published by the Sustainable Energy Corps of AIChE in their international database and will be recognized by professionals from industries and the American government. He has also been awarded two important courses of AIChE worth around $1000 under this grant program.
Bishwash Paneru, a distinguished fourth-year undergraduate student majoring in Chemical Engineering at Pulchowk Campus, along with the team has achieved a significant milestone by securing acceptance into the United Engineering Foundation (UEF) funded grant program for climate solutions projects. This prestigious grant, totaling $11,875, has been awarded in recognition of his outstanding research project titled 'Techno-economic analysis of cryogenic CO2 capture process in the context of Nepal and its applications.'
Collaborating
with esteemed team members, Biplov Paneru from Nepal Engineering College (a
past research engineer at national innovation center) and Anup Paudel, a recent
graduate of Mechanical Engineering from Pulchowk Campus, Bishwash's project
stood out among a global pool of submissions. Notably, the project was the sole selection from Asia and
was among the eight projects chosen worldwide for the UEF grant program.
The UEF, a collaborative consortium comprising five major engineering
societies, including AIChE, IEEE, AIME, ASCE, and ASME, acknowledged the
exceptional merit and potential impact of Bishwash's research.
The
significance of this achievement extends beyond the monetary grant. Bishwash
Paneru's project is set to make a lasting mark in the academic and professional
realms. The project report is slated for publication by the Sustainable Energy
Corps of AIChE in their international database. This publication will not only
contribute valuable insights to the field but also garner recognition from
professionals within industries and the American government.
Moreover,
as part of the grant program, Bishwash and team has been awarded two essential
courses offered by AIChE, valued at approximately $1000. These courses will
further enhance his knowledge and expertise in the field of chemical
engineering, providing him with valuable skills and insights to advance his
contributions to climate solutions.
The
students dedication to advancing sustainable practices through his research
showcases the caliber of talent emerging from Pulchowk Campus and positions him
as a notable figure within the global engineering community. His commitment to
addressing environmental challenges and finding innovative solutions
demonstrates the potential for positive change that can arise from the
endeavors of talented individuals in the field of engineering.
